Default texas -13.5 oklahoma - gift????

well my little gift pick from last week came in by measly one point (south florida +21 @ miami).

now i'm looking at texas oklahoma (presumably from dallas and texas state fair), and it's texas -13.5... peterson is questionable.... seems like texas still has big hump to overcome with oklahoma. don't strike me as high powered offense (missouri result notwithstanding)... just see this game as close. and 13.5 brings in good chance of back-door cover.

don't know that much about oklahoma this year. i know they are disappointing but are they horrible???

famous last words, but "easy money"

-13.5 is where the early betting is leaning, but very few books have taken an opinion on this one so far. wait it out.

I dont like waiting if you're on Texas, looks like this line will only move away from them.

Missouri is certainly not better.

Oklahoma has played a couple of disappointing games. They lost their opener to TCU and a road game to UCLA. Those teams are 8-1. Oklahoma also suffered several turnovers and broke in a lot of new personnel. Coming off their bye week, they were much crisper in a 43-21 win over unbeaten (versus patsies) Kansas St. OU led 26-0 and coasted. I think OU would normally be a small play, but with Peterson questionable, I would just avoid.

I see value in Oklahoma at +14 or 14.5.

I agree, but Peterson has been in a boot missing practice. There are just to many questions on this game.

Plus I don't bet with my heart, so no money for me on this game.

C'mon. Down deep, you're terrified that Mack Brown will screw it up again, aren't you?

I won't bet this game, either. I'm too wound up over the fall my beloved Sooners have taken.

i just see this as a classic hump game for texas (have to get over the hump and alot of times teams stumble)... has texas ever had its offense going in this game???

and aren't rivalry games often much closer than power ratings would suggest??? i remember reading that from phil steele.

i don't follow college football extremely closely, but this line shocked me. (now maybe oklahoma is shockingly that bad).

of collegefootballnews.com experts who handicap. 3 have texas covering, 7 have texas winning without cover, and one has oklahoma wining (i took out the chicken clucko, although i think he won the contest one year). these experts got killed on GaTech-NC State last night.

some more stuff..

yes, texas has #1 rushing offense in nation, but oklahoma is only giving up 65 yards/game.

texas held clayton of K-State (#1 rusher in nation at time) to 8 yards on 12 carries. held maurice drew to 65 years (thanks to collegefootballnews.com, whose expert calls it 31-20 for texas - but says texas will get tight if game stays close).
