$11\'s (2 hands) complete from SB & push TT UTG L4
Below are 2 hands that I am not sure I played correctly. Please critique...

Re: $11\'s (2 hands) complete from SB & push TT UTG L4
Hand 1: I often play hand one the exact same way, although I might bet on the flop. (I dunno if it's mathematically incorrect to limp with 98s i this position, but I do it too).
Hand 2: Easy shove |

would anyone shove pf on the first one to try and pick up the blinds? [/ QUOTE ] I think they call that a PVS. That looks like a steal in this situation and might get called... I don't think that I have the stack or the cards to back it up, but that would be a nice 30% increase to my stack if it worked... |

Re: $11\'s (2 hands) complete from SB & push TT UTG L4
i'd fold pre-flop with 98s, but pushing is ok too. i don't like completing. i'd check-call the flop and check the turn too. it's kind of transparent as trips, but i think it's best.
auto-push the TT hand. it'd be better if the BB had a few more chips, but you can't fold TT there 7-handed. |

Re: $11\'s (2 hands) complete from SB & push TT UTG L4
98s for < 5% of your stack and with 7:1 pot odds? If you fold here you are folding major +EV. Pushing is also fine, depending on the table.
Don't worry about the second heart. It's heads-up and there's no reason to think he had two hearts from the flop. Even if he's playing 2 suited he has 2 hearts perhaps slightly more than 10% of the time, and completes the flush 20% of those. Because of the king on the flop it's viable to lead and hope for a caller if you have a big stack relative to the pot IMO, but you don't, so slowplaying looks good. I'd probably check-call, cr all in. |

Re: $11\'s (2 hands) complete from SB & push TT UTG L4
Hand 1: Not sure on the limp. Would have to be read specific, I don't think any option (other than flat raise) can be cut and dried "wrong" move.
I push his flop bet though. 3 reasons: 1) You have a very strong hand 2) Villains are willing to protect their bet before seeing another card (so, I think you will see a call here more often than not). Which is really what you want 3) Things can't get a lot better for you or villain, so waiting for the turn gives villain an oportunity to back out. 2-3 mean you leave chips on the table that could have been yours. Hand 2: [ QUOTE ] (had not seen good cards in a while) [/ QUOTE ] I'd like to know what weight you put on this and why you included it. |

Re: $11\'s (2 hands) complete from SB & push TT UTG L4
Hand 1: I fold here, but a complete is ok in my book. The problem is when you get a lot of action on a J94 flop when you bet out, or a 824 flop, etc, etc... now you're spewing chips with a marginal hand.
I don't like a (PVS) push because I think the fact that both limping stacks have ~t1800 means they are going to look you up too often to make the move profitable. Hand 2: Pushing is correct and your only move here. |
