Default Preflop raising for value from the button

I played in 3/6 live game last night with 4-6 people seeing the flop each hand. What are the minimum hands I should be raising for value with here if 4 people are already in the pot?

for instance. I raised 99, and JTs, but didn't raise 88 and didn't raise A3s.

If you want to improve your game at this type of table. I highly recommend Low Limit Holdem. The table you were at sounds like the exact type of table this book was written for.
