Default Call or raise the river with the nuts?

200 NL 6-max VERY GOOD game
All players in afforementioned game very in ability from not good to bad to awful.

I am SB with KQo, couple limp, I call, BB checks. UTG(200), MP (130), BB(250), I cover all by alot.

Flop(8) comes J 10 2 rainbow. Checked around.

Turn(8) 3 or some blank that completes rainbow. I check, BB bets 8, UTG folds, MP calls, I call.

River(32): 9

I check (please do not analyze this aspect of the hand, trust me game conditions dictated this), BB bets 18, MP pushes for around 100.

Now, BB is bad but not awful, do I raise or flat call here? My thoughts and results later.

this is totally read dependent...in general i'd raise here and here is why.

A flat-call of an all in to me looks more ominous than a raise. If you raise it looks like you are trying to isolate the guy that pushed.....if you push it looks like you are trying to push out BB.....it *might* convince him to call....also, if he's willing to call 100, he's probably willing to call a push.

I think you have to call. If BB still thinks his hand is best, you have to give him a chance to come over the top.

If he's got a queen he's calling your push expecting to split.

Push.

Expecting to split with Q-high? Don't think so..
I probably push this. A check-call an all-in looks too suspicious.
BB's betting pattern could be 2 pair or 22. He hoped to get some action at the flop, and therefore checked.
If he's only got one pair, I don't think he's calling MPs push anyways, so if he calls ~80 I also think he calls 180.

I agree with this.

Zhi, you read the board wrong. Q doesn't make a straight. If it did, this would be an obvious push.

I meant queen high straight of course. Q8 is always going to pay you out unless they're far too good to be playing this limit, and 87 is probably paying you out too.

Only a donkey would call your check/call of a push and his subsequent call anyway... and if he's big enough of a donkey to get married to anything less than the nuts on that board, he's big enough a donkey to call a push.

It's the lower limits, don't get fancy.

I just called, BB thought for a while and called/mucked. He told me later in the chat box that he had rivered two pair and thought that I might be calling MP's push with just a pair because he was so bad.

In fact, you might even say that pushing would look like you were trying to isolate the terrible player...
