TP w/ flush draw turns a straight draw
villain is 54/8/5.5 @ 28 hands
thoughts: in general i'm not doing well semi bluffing, so i've cut way down. The way hes betting, it doesn't feel like a flush draw, but a made hand, which is why i checked behind on the river, felt like he was inducing a bluff, and i did have decent showdown value. any comments on this hand Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter Button ($54.21) SB ($24.75) BB ($19.97) UTG ($19.96) Hero ($33.45) Preflop: Hero is MP with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Re: TP w/ flush draw turns a straight draw
I'd raise the flop (to $3) and make him pay for possible draws...

Re: TP w/ flush draw turns a straight draw
Raise the flop! You have top pair and a flush draw, and this guy is aggressive.

i think a river raise is warranted here as well.

i think a river raise is warranted here as well. [/ QUOTE ] What worse hands will call the river bet? I could see a worse Queen maybe folding to the river bet, but like OP said, his hand definitely has showdown value here. |

[/ QUOTE ] Depends on the river bet: Full-pot: probably not called by a reasonable player 1/2 pot: probably only called about 30% of the time with a weak Q or an A8 or some such. 1/3 pot: probaby called about 70% unless he was totally bluffing. The main problem with the smaller bets is that you risk a C/R and then a decision. If the player has not shown themselves to be tricky I'd probably throw out a $3 bet for value. |

Re: TP w/ flush draw turns a straight draw
This isn't a semi-bluff hand, it's a powerhouse. You got to raise that flop. Raise to about $4, bet the turn if checked to, and Then you can probably check behind the river if you want to.
