If you check, he will bet and you will have value to call anyway. You know how these games are. Bet and give him the chance to fold.

I probably check behind on the turn and fold unimproved as played. I might have check/raised all in on the flop, though. Did you debate that line? If he has A2 he's likely counterfeited on the low draw and if he has AA with no low very hard for him to call here with just an overpair for potentially half the pot.

OK-- the way I read the hand, Villian already checked the turn, and you can take a free card. I think that is the play. You are in position to do anything you want on the river.

I think leading for the pot on the turn is probably correct if he has a stack that covers the pot (ie, will only get 2:1). I'm not sure his hand, for example, even being ahead, can reasonably call a pot-sized bet on the turn if he's not short. That's the huge mistake--not taking his stack size into acct.

TWP--you absolutely have to pot the flop here... it's a raised pot called three ways, so there's significant $ in there already, and you are very likely ahead EV-wise. The ultimate goal should be to get all in on the flop, but going for the check-raise and having it check around is the ultimate catastrophe with a flopped draw-monster like this one, since if the turn bricks your equity has just been destroyed, and if you get there both ways it's obvious what your bet means... the only way a check-around doesn't result in utter disaster is when a 7 or 8 falls, making your low but giving top two pair or a set a chance to let you freeroll them.

Do you expect this to check around frequently? I was under the impression that the preflop raiser would bet here almost 100% of the time. And with your stacks and the pot there won't really be any way to get it all in on the flop unless someone ELSE chooses to do so which just didn't strike me as being ideal. I definitely do see what you're saying though.

Villain (preflop raiser) already checked the flop.
