Default Steal goes bad

UTG had been limping quite a lot so I was pretty confident he didn't have anything. With a decent hand and position I went to steal. But after I'm raised I have no clue what I was supposed to do. Push? I doubt I have any FE here, and calling leaves me with about 9xBB.

4-to-1 odds are pretty tempting.

Hero call PF.

villain priced you in. After the flop you are getting the right price to call the push. Good beat.

I'm joking, but you're going to be at like 1000 posts by Sunday if you keep this rate up!

Back to the OP, I like the play overall mostly, one that is necessary often in tournies. BB was a donk to more or less minraise you and give you odds to call with 2-7o, let alone 8-7.

You have no FE if you push, you are going to get all-in anyway, he acts first and will put you all-in on any flop, so therefore you have to put the rest of your chips in and pray, whether it be preflop or post flop.

Glad it worked out for you though.

Brad
