Default Preflop Call/Fold?

I'm in the big blind. No real reads, semi passive table, if people make hands they bet, no too much raising.

Having trouble with the converter so here's the email history (removed people's names, kept first letter):

Dealt to hero [ Td, 8d ]
H calls (0.25)
S calls (0.25)
D calls (0.25)
d raises (0.50) to 0.50
Y calls (0.50)
a calls (0.50)
l folds.
g folds.
C folds.
hero ???

My thoughts are: If I make a pair, it's weak, trips would be better. A straight is strong, but I'm already working on a gutshot and a lot less outs with that. A flush is weak. Straight flush is a pipedream.

Did I act correctly, and are my thougts good?

VERY easy call. Great hand in this situation. A flush is not weak; you'll definitely win enough with that and/or trips/straight to make this profitable.

Easy call. You're drawing to 2pr, trips, a straight, a flush. Plenty of odds to call here in this huge family pot.

I call here. You have great odds to try for a strong hand. Plus:

That's beee-youtiful for a hand like this. They will let you know where you stand, and if you make your 2-pair hand...strong but vulnerable, you won't face too many raises/reraises unless you're beaten.

The one thing I don't like is that your 2 pr hand could easily match up with some str8 hands your opponents are playing, but I still call this.

Edit: Not in the BB, your likely odds go from 15:1 to 7.5:1. I don't personally cold call this, but I don't necessarily think it's a mistake to do so.

This is an easy call. What do people think about 108o?

I would not call T8o from the BB, and I would not cold call with T8s.

T8s is a good call from the BB, because you are getting a 1 bet discount.

Your thinking isn't bad (this is a pretty weak hand) but the fold is not the right answer. All those "weak" possibilities to win combine to give you more than enough in implied odds to make this call. Right now the pot is offering you 10:1 effective odds (money in the pot right now) and getting 13:1 implied because all the limpers in front of the raiser are almost deffinately comming along. Plus you also have the future implied odds, with this many people, that if you make a hand you'll get paid off (probably by several of them).
All of this hinges on your postflop play as well, if you make a lone pair you should almost deffinately drop it with this many people in. But if you flop trips, a flush draw, or a straight draw you're strong (and will have the pot odds to see it through). Even flopping top 2 pair might get it done. I think playing most any two suited from here is not a mistake if you have odds/implied odds that are that good. If you don't hit the flop strong dump it. But I think a call here with T8s is almost mandatory.

EDIT: I wouldn't coldcall with this hand, now JTs or even T9s I think is a cold call in these kinds of situations.

No. But for 1BB getting like 173:1 - sure! (Exaggeration for emphasis. )
