Re: Would you fold AQ here with gutshot, back door flush, and overcard?
FOLD, hehe. If you held two clubs in your hand (and just one on the board), the backdoorflush might be worth something, but not here, especially not with just the queen. It's not certain AT ALL that the ace will save you here, so you really just have a gutshot. The gutshot is 11,5-1 so with villains big reraise here, you are not getting anyway near the odds of calling. With this pot size you are not getting implied odds either so you can safely fold.

Why even call the big reraise on the turn, Im check/folding here, is that correct? You just plain missed the flop, and have no odds to your 4-outer

I'm assuming you mean the flop, but yeah, this is why I check behind on the flop, I have a couple of weak draws but can't call a raise. If he flopped nothing, he'll let me know on the turn and I can bet then and pick it up.

Why do you check behind? Is it to pick up outs or the nuts, or is it because you think he connected with the flop?
Isn't ok to represent AK here and fold out PPs? |

Wow, posts coming in fast.
But if you check behind, aren't you inviting him to bet the turn? And then you have lost the chance to win the hand? |

I'd definitely fold.
If you call these bets, you'll piss away a lot of money in the long run. As well, sometimes you'll call these and hit your ace - and it will hurt you. Ryan |

Isn't ok to represent AK here and fold out PPs? [/ QUOTE ] Sure, you can. I like checking behind when I have a couple of weak draws, although I like checking behind more if I had the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] instead of the Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Like I said, if he has 33 or something, you can bet on 4th street and pick it up. I don't have a problem with betting the flop, it's just not what I would do on this flop. |

But if you check behind, aren't you inviting him to bet the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Not necessarily. When you check behind and are the PFR, it often sets of warning bells. But yes, that is the risk you run for taking a card off. |
