Online Poker Illegal.
Researching tax issues related to poker, I discovered that Department of Justice regards online poker as an illegal pastime. Reasearching the topic further, I found that there is actually a grey area involved here; states vs. federal etc, etc, im sure most of you know what I am talking about here.
I don't believe that this grey area will last forever. Both sides are currently active ( and have been for some time ) in attempts to get laws passed in thier favor. So here comes my question. Which side will win? Will party poker be a thing of the past in five years(at least for americans)? |

Re: Online Poker Illegal.
1. Wrong forum.
2. I don't think the Justice Department is interested in being put in a spot where they're busting .5/1 players. 3. I think MGM, Harrah's, etc. would very much like explicit legalization along with a strong regulatory framework. 4. Party is toast if online poker is ever officially legalized in the US. |

Re: Online Poker Illegal.
Don't even know if I'll be playing in 5 years ...
I tend to think anything which can be used as a tax base will at some point become legal and hosted in US so the income for the companies hosting them can become taxed. Lot of tax threads in the zoo ... |

This belongs in the zoo, but really, they will probably flame you if I move it there. Do a search rather than get flamed. I'm locking this in the mean time.
