$11 - Fold AK behind a raise
He makes a standard raise, I fold. I used to push a lot of the time, but I don't think I like it so much cause I get called by mid pairs a bunch. A smaller reraise opens me up to the three-bet, and I don't want to call off 1/8 of my stack. But I'd have position, so it might be worth it.

i'd call [/ QUOTE ] For the times you don't hit an A or K, you'll get checked to and be able to pick up the pot often enough to make it profitable IMO. This is my line here with AKo as of late. Don't be too fearful of the push though in this spot in the 11s, for however often you'll see wired sixes you'll also see AJ and AQ... Edit: Folding is bad! HIJAK: What to do in this situation with AKs/o in a 1000-chip game? Raise and make it X to go, or just call? |

Re: $11 - Fold AK behind a raise
i think u still just call in 1k chip game
if u reraise he'll reraise, etc... 9% of your stack is fine for ak i also like making the semi-bluff on flop with ak more if pot is 200 than 500+...don't wanna make it too expensive to do |

Re: $11 - Fold AK behind a raise
I usually reraise to about 200 and
a) Try to win it PF b) Pray for an A or K to hit or if I miss c) Pray the flop misses him and make a continuation bet if he checks. |

Folding here, I think, is the worst option, but I'd like to know what the best one is so I can start doing it by default. |

Re: $11 - Fold AK behind a raise
I know you've played as high as $55s and stuff Perg, but this is an $11. Just push and double up against ATo.

Re: $11 - Fold AK behind a raise
i think this is okay at the 11s, since weaker As will call your reraise and still give you their whole stack when an A falls. but if you have any reason at all to believe that your opponent will be intimidated by your reraise, you have to call here. the power of AK is that you can earn a large sum of money from Ax if an A falls. if you reraise here with your AK and you cause your opponent with AQ, AJ, AT to slow down and start to worry, you've taken that power away.
