Default What do you do here?

$22

What do you do in a situation like this?

Sandg4me was playing tight and his reraise screamed a big hand. Was i correct to just call and try to hit a set here?
Or should i folded?

I had not been playing many hands and got my chips on the back of big hands.

Hi Olly,

If it's any consolation I would have played this hand in the same way as you. But I'm feeling similar to how you felt about it. Not too sure but I think either way it's pretty close. If you do manage to hit a set and he does have a high pair and you stack him you've basically won the tournament and your stack is fairly healthy here. So yeah, close decision, but I would play here the same as you.

Another one that seems entirely fine to me.

So fine that I can't even think of a useful comment. Sorry.

So you think his mini raise screams weakness?

That was my thought process as well an 8 = me take his entire stack

My experience is that these mini raises are dangerous unless they come from the BB. I haven't played many 22s though, but have played more 11s than almost anyone and lots of 33s.

nh. lori's right about the mini-reraise. it sure doesn't scream weakness to me, and i'm not going to pay to find out. i would have played it exactly the same way that you did. no point getting into a pissing match with the other bigstack here.
