NL200 6-max. Top set played weak
This was about my 2nd worst hand of the day.. In the middle of a downswing playing somewhat weak tightish. Comments on turn and river please moreso please. Villian is 27/4 kinda agro after 200 hands. We both have full stacks
dealt to hero: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] utg(villian) calls 2, hero raises to 10, 2 folds, utg calls. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (pot 22) utg checks, hero bets 12, villian thinks and calls turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot ~45) Villian bets 45, Hero calls 45 River: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villian checks, Hero ? |

Re: NL200 6-max. Top set played weak
raise turn, check behind river, the reason to raise the turn is exactly what happened in this hand, a bad card came and killed your action.

urgh. that's all I gotta say. urgh. I'm really not sure if raising the turn would help here tho. this is the kind of situation where I get the coin out a flip for a decision.

Re: NL200 6-max. Top set played weak
how does raising the turn not do the trick? the villan checks behind on the river becasue the 10 scared him.

[/ QUOTE ] At 6-max, you're getting calls from A8, KQ and AQ, all of whom think their hand is good. Even AJ will call thinking he just got ahead of you. Once that particular card comes, you're not getting the above hands to bite. I think raising the turn puts more money in the pot when you likely have the best of it. |

Re: NL200 6-max. Top set played weak
I just re-read the hand... and yeah, you're right... just get as much as you can from that hand... when you lose, oh well, that's poker... but most often you're in front... and even when you're not, you've got outs to the full-house.
Apologies to other posters, I'm drunk. |

Re: NL200 6-max. Top set played weak
I would raise the turn big here. Opponent can have a lot of 2nd best hands/ good draws here, and you are unlikely to be beat here. Raise it up.
As for the river, I probably check behind, but if you tnhink villain will call with 2 pair/lower set/etc on such a scary board, then by all means bet. |

Re: NL200 6-max. Top set played weak
as the hand played out (with hero just calling turn), who here bets the river given info about villian and for how much? Fold to even min check-raise?

your weak flop bet sucks.
I bet you bet more with AK. |
