I'm a noob to No Lmit 100. How are these?

I'm a new no-limit player switching across from Limit. I can't fold either of these hands with no reads can I?
I had a semi-read on the villian in hand 1 as a solid player. In hand 2, I think his short stackedness made me call. Anyone play it differently?

hand 1 - i fold the turn. what hand does a solid player raise from UTG to 5xBB that you beat?

hand 2 - excluding preflop, it looks standard. i don't think i'd normally raise here, but if i did it'd be to $4 or $5

Hand 1, you probably need to pop the flop to find out where you are at and even that is a pretty crappy line here. Everything about this hand screams AA-QQ, and I am going to assume that is what you got shown. Was anyone else opening for 5 pre flop ? This is usually the sign of one of the hands I just mentioned. You are probably doomed to lose money on this hand if you move in on the turn. It's pretty rare to see someone bet the pot twice without one of the aforementioned hands at this level, or something even stronger.

Hand 2 is a little weird. 810 and 58 are the only hands that make straights here. His all in scares me, it is probably not a bluff. Your best hope is that he has AK-A10. , some players do play those hands in this matter (this is a very poor way to play that hand though). That said I am not too afraid to get my money in here as you are not drawing dead against anything. I do not usually open with A9o, but that might be wrong.

Hand 1 I prefer call, call, call if you think you're ahead. But I usually fold the turn here. He has to put you on a nine or better when you call the flop since it is pretty dry. The fact that he's still betting pretty solidly means that he can probably beat a nine. If he can beat a nine, he can probably beat JJ. If you had a read that he was LAGgy, though, then I prefer call, call, call because he could have raised trash that is drawing very slim and you want him to keep betting it.

Hand 2 is fine. But if you folded the turn, I really don't think you'd be wrong. I can almost guarantee you that it is a set or a straight here because people do NOT check/raise all in on the turn without a serious monster. But very hard to fold top two there. He could have AK or a worse two pair, I guess...

raise the flop in hand 1 and fold to further agression.

Hand 2 seems ok to me...you are up against a worse two pair a lot of the time here.

Hand 1, pop the flop, barring that, fold the turn. You're only beating a hyper-aggro AK here. 99-TT have you beat.

fold the turn in hand 1.

the rest is fine imo.

many people made a point to raise the flop in hand 1. i disagree. you have position and the most powerfull way to use it is a call.

hand 2: i think your hand is strong enough to open. on the turn you may face a staight or set, but there is a good enough chance that he has lower 2 pair or a big ace. i like the call.

Hand1: If you're going to push on a blank turn, you shoudl instead pop the flop up to 45 after his re-raise to see where you're at. It seems as though he had you killed with an overpair.

Hand2: standard all the way down.

i think the typical opponent will bet again on the turn if he gets called and has a very big overpair but check if he has 2 high cards or a lowish PP.
that means i can confidently fold the turn if he bets again and bet him out the pot if he checks.
