This advice was given earlier to a different poster and I think it applies here as well---ask yourself, "What would a good player do?"---sorta like a WWJD mantra

An even better way to do this is to pick a specific player whose style you you admire and whose style you want to emulate and imagine them standing over your shoulder - what would they say if you called that bet?

I always remind myself that a new hand will start in about 30 seconds (or if I am online, 3 new hands have already been dealt.)

You could try playing pot limit omaha for a while.

You will learn to fold or go broke...

A dollar you win is worth eaxactly the the same amount as a dollar you don't lose.

Boredom or curiosity can cause you to call when you shouldn't. If you are consistantly winning $ then multi tabling can help. You are less likely to get board and more likely to fold. If you are NOT winning money then multi tabling will cost you twice as much money.

This doesn't always work, for obvious reasons, but when I have a hand I really want to stay with but I'm facing a raise that tells me I'm beat, I think about what I can still do with the chips I have remaining and I ask "Is this the hand I want to play for all my chips?"

I had a hard time with that until I reread that passage in SSHE which stated that, especially postflop, one should think raise or fold rather than call. That has saved me a lot of bets and I am no longer a calling station. Biggest leak I've been able to plug so far!
