It was pretty comical, that 9th inning in the monsoon. Glad nobody got hurt.

Forty games over .500. Very impressive. There's not a team in either major league now that looks anywhere near as good as the Cardinals. Cleveland's the best team in the AL right now, and I guess the Braves are the second best in the NL. So you see my point.

So what's it like to root for a team with a decent manager?

Yep, that must make it sweet to clinch against the incompetent losers. Hopefully people will wake up and stop going to loser games in the rotten confines and the Cubs will be moved to Puerto Rico to play in an astroturfed monstrosity stadium or something.

Could the Cardinals be the new Braves?

They've got a lot more post-seasons to blow before they can be called the new Braves.

How's the Cards farm system? The Braves have done it by keeping a solid crew in AAA and AA ball. Good enough to trade away for top talent, or step up and contribute immediately.

I don't know if anyone is ever going to win 14 straight division championships again, but the Cards do seem to have some solid young talent, and a good enough manager to keep their heads on straight.

well, its not like the cubs have had a deep farm system in a long time, at least in my lifetime that I can remember(I was born in 1980).
