Default So, can I just buy a Verizon-compatible phone on the web?

I'm interested in getting a new phone for my verizon service, since I went to Vegas and kids who make 1/5 as much as I do had these cool phones and I have this piece of crap one, among other reasons. Anyways, I went in to VW today, and was told I'd have to wait until March to get a credit towards a new one, and since I HATE paying full price for anything,( my poor days aren;t that far behind me), I was wondering if maybe I could search ebay or something, get a phone and then just switch over the serivce.

Go on Ebay... I just bought Lg VX6000 (about a year old) for 130.00. Its not the newest but is cheaper than paying the full retail price at the VZ store. You don't need a "Sim Card" Cingular is on a different network than VZ.

Reps around here tell everyone to get their phone on the web if they arent up for an update. Just search ebay for a verizon phone and make sure if you want GSM or whatever it's compatible. Obviously, go for sellers with very high satisfaction ratings.

I've heard you can buy phones for other carriers but I dont know how true it is

just make sure it's a phone specifically FOR Verizon. If it's a phone for T-Mobile it will be a slight hassle to get it unlocked and usable for your Verizon plan
