Hit trips but not liking it
SB = LAP, UTG = LPP
Normally when someone checks, 3 bets it's easy to assume they've made the set or in this case fh. I know this so was i correct in either drawing to the ace, or calling down incase im playing against another 4 with a worse kicker plus a bad player overplaying a big pocket pair? Re: Hit trips but not liking it
I stick in one more raise on the turn. You're often just up against the case 4 and an overplayed 7 or perhaps an overpair. If you get 3-bet on the turn it's time to worry about 77.

Re: Hit trips but not liking it
I think I could get one more raise in on the turn, you may be dealing with an overpair, or a 7 that your opponent(s) want to eliminate players with. Call down to any further aggression.

I think this is ok. I might raise once more on the turn.

Re: Hit trips but not liking it
74 is not even worth considering. UTG needs exactly 77 to be ahead of you. If he has it you are drawing to one out.
Notice the board also has a possible OESD and flush draw with the str8 draw hitting on the turn. Your only other option is to raise the turn, but you don't really want to fold to a 3-bet do you? |

Re: Hit trips but not liking it
i'm putting in another raise on the turn. our play could easily look like a flush draw raise or an overcard bluff. if our kicker was crappier, i'd just call down as i seem to constantly run into someone having the case 4 with a better kicker. if someone has 56 and playing the flop like this: well played, but at this point 77 is the ONLY reasonable hand we're losing to.

Re: Hit trips but not liking it
you will see a 4 with a weaker kicker a fair amount here. I raise the turn.

I raise all the way here. You're worrying about monsters IMO.

I raise all the way here. You're worrying about monsters IMO. [/ QUOTE ] I agree that our hand is strong, but a check/3-bet and a bet/cap have to send off some kind of warning bells that we are at least against another 4. At what point do you start worrying about the fact that you might be behind here? |

Re: Hit trips but not liking it
I agree, but even against another 4 we have a better kicker.
I see your point but think I would still play this agressively. |
