If this is me...

1) I don't bother calling pre-flop.

2) I just call the flop, considering that your hand likely won't be good as is, so why not see if the other guy will come along and pad the pot.

3) I probably check the turn, call a bet of around the pot. I don't like the all-in here because there's nothing he's calling with that you beat, or are even ahead of, except AK of spades. He's either folding overcards, against which you were a big favorite, or calling with an overpair, against which you're a slight dog. Not much upside there.

you two are pussies. absolutely no balls at all.

I like the play if there is a chance that you won't get called X percentage of the time. If the chance is 0, the genius behind it is virtually nil.

While people say you can find a better spot to put all your money, I do like the play if:

A. They fold and you can show your hand
B. They call and you hit.

Gives off an aggressive image of your playing.

This is reasonable. But:

The pot is ~800, I have ~1000 behind...

If a set 4 4's 4 9's and 8 spades
14 cards

[/ QUOTE ]

But you're double counting the 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and the 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], so it's only 12 outs.

edit again: noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I clicked edit and not reply.......... I do believe in table image, but I would rather have people know that I am aggressive when I am playing the hand then a pussy that looks like its my first time. Your right about getting called late with Q3 but by that time we are gonna get paid enough because of image on big hands we won't be pushing a small stack on the bubble because we'll have more hten ohters . The opposite of your comment can be what about the tight ass guy that has AA late you think he's gonna get paid when he pushes? Helllll no.

A. Im not showing if they fold, but
B. I like this. If you hit and get a huge stack, they'll be folding to your BB frequently and folding when you try to steal, especially on the bubble.

This is probably optimum strategy at Party, but at Stars with a much deeper stack, it could be a huge opportunity.
