showing cards questiom
Just wanted soem opinions on something that came up at my home game. Two players left in Holdem player A bets $20, Player B calls. Player A turns over both cards and shows a pair of queens. Player B turns one card over , a king, which matchs a king on the board giving him a pair a kings. Player B states that he doesn't have to show the other card.
Whats the ruling on this. I know its a home game but I say the rules of poker state you have to show both cards when calling. The TDA doesn't cover this |

Re: showing cards questiom
If you go by standard TD rules, a player must show both cards.
This has many reasons behind it to ensure a fair hand. That being said, some HGs don't require it *shrugs* Good Luck -ZEN |

Re: showing cards questiom
According to Roberts Rules of Poker:
1. To win any part of a pot, a player must show all of his cards faceup on the table, whether they were used in the final hand played or not. That being said, it is a home game and may have different rules. At my home games I ahve a rules sheet that specifically says we use Roberts Rules unless otherwise specified and I keep a printed copy of the rules on hand at all times. |

Re: showing cards questiom
Ok thanks guys. It apopears the card has to be shown. I try to go by the proper rules at my home game and will do the same for this one.
IMO, home games should follow the proper rules of poker where possible |

Re: showing cards questiom
2 cards to take a pot down. make him show both or the other player gets the pot. if it's not a rule, make it one, mention it before you play next time. your house, your rules. it's not like it's a crazy idea, 2 cards in a showdown.
