Flopped nut flush, action on paired turn
Villain is 18/4.5/2 over 44 hands. Showed down Q7 from blinds and a poorly played set of jacks which lost to a rivered straight. I've been playing about 20% of my hands. I've been continuation betting a lot, so with the flopped nuts, I thought I'd slow down.

Re: Flopped nut flush, action on paired turn
I bet that flop 100% of the time unless villian is über-aggro. The fact that you have made alot of continuation bets should only make you more prone to bet the flop.

I've been continuation betting a lot, so with the flopped nuts, I thought I'd slow down. [/ QUOTE ] Flopping the nuts and betting hte flop is why you make continuation bets with air. As for the hand, figure out how to get the most money in. |

Re: Flopped nut flush, action on paired turn
Yes, you (and the other two replies) have it correct - if I'm going to continuation bet a lot and I haven't shown down anything strong lately, I need to bet at the flop.

River: ($99.25) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Final Pot: $99.25 Results: Hero has Qc Ac (flush, ace high). MP1 has 7s 7h (full house, sevens full of kings). Outcome: MP1 wins $99.25. Oh well. I tend to agree I'm good here enough to make the call. I still think I made a mistake by not betting the flop. If I'm making continuation bets, I need to make them when I hit too. Also, after the hand I considered raising to $15 instead of $20. This gives me a chance to get away from it if I think he can play a set this way. Or is that just wishful thinking? |
