Default Should I be concerned or am I paranoid?

I recently got an Empire account, and the way it happened seemed odd. I filled out a form, and then my account was created for me by someone else. I received back an email telling me my account is made, what the password is, and to change my password. I log in and everything seems fine. However, I'm a little wary about depositing money.

Here's the paranoia I suppose. Wouldn't someone that knows all the verification information (i.e. address and dob) simply be able to phone in and say he/she forgot the password to the account, has no access anymore to the listed email address, and needs the password to be reset?

Has anyone else had a similar arrangement? If so, was the long term result favorable or not? Thanks.

I did the same (for RB).
No worries as they will never give out a password over the phone.
They will only send it to the registered e-mail of that user.
