A bet of about 1/3-2/3 pot (somewhere in that range, depends on the player) which is meant to be called by a relatively wide range of hands on a dangerous board, but which will in theory only be raised by better hands. So for example here, we expect to be called by KQ, maybe AK, but will only get raised by a full house. It's essentially used to try to dictate the size of the bet, while maximizing (or nearly maximizing) our gain from lesser hands.

I also would not block here.

Does check/call work here? Maybe even check/fold based on read/ amount bet?

I might blocking bet, but I think you can just as well check/call if he's agressive or check/fold if he's not. Tough to see him calling a sizeable bet with KQ here, but QJ, KJ, etc are all possible here.

Looking at the betting on the flop and preflop I don't think he has a boat. I think he could have something like KT (calling the big raise with an OESD) or AT (slowplaying the nut straight). Possibly KJ, but looking at his postflop aggro, you should think he would bet second pair in position

I dont think a player is going to check behind kt on the flop, when we got in 44 on the turn i thought for sure he had at worst 2 pair, or a set, not AT, i decided to check the river, he checks behind and shows AA, NH.

I'd be very worried about a pair of Queens here--it's quite often played like that by players who're worried that a bet of a set will cause everyone to fold. Turns out it wasn't the case tho.
