Default Intelligent Design

Apparently President Bush feels that Intelligent Design should be taught alongside the theory of evolution.

Here's an open letter to the Kansas City School Board in response.

Default Doesn\'t Bush invalidate the premise of Intelligent Design ?

I mean, you have God/Intelligent Design and then you arrive at ...Dubya?

Never happen.

Seriously, if I lived anywhere that taught this in Science, I'd move for the sake of my kids. I'd also be ashamed that I lived in a place where this happened.

No objection to it being taught in the right context, but NOT Science.

And it isn't for religious reasons, I'd do the same if they introduced Alchemy in Chemistry, or Aristotle's understanding of gravity in Physics, and asserted it was "Science".

It's just I hate stupid.

We don't teach kids that babies come from storks, or that the world is flat, simply for the sake of showing different viewpoints. So why would we teach intelligent design?

The argument against what you're saying is that the above three have all been proven false, but intelligent design hasn't been.

The reason intelligent design should not be taught it isn't that evolution advocates like myself have proven intelligent design wrong (how could we?) but that it isn't grounded in science.

Hurricane Katrina was extremely organized and a very complex system. It MUST have come from intelligent design and not nature.
