What do you guys want Ryan Seacrest, Oprah ? [/ QUOTE ] No, but I don't want someone who tells the same ex-wfie joke 3 times in a show, my god how many times can you hear the same 3 one-liners? The WPT guys, while kind of cliched at times, do a hood job at being entertaining while at the same time giving insight into what is going on, neither of which is given on the ESPN broadcasts. I would also say that every show of the Ultimate POker Challenge i announced much better than ESPN broadcasts as well. |

[/ QUOTE ] Exactly. Van patten is pretty entertaining and Sexton is very good at keeping viewers informed as to what is actually happening in the hand, often indicating the bet size in relation to the pot, the significance of a particular play etc. Absolutely PWN the ESPN clowns. |

[/ QUOTE ] And the WPT trys to keep track of the blind levels, pot size and stack sizes. ESPN forgets about those minor details for long stretches Van Patten is goofy, but I've never understood some of the hostility Sexton gets, I think he does a good job pointing out relevant aspects of a hand (because he is a good poker player). Honestly, the announcers don't mean that much to me, just show blind level, stack sizes, bet sizes and total amount in the pot, all I need to enjoy the play. If they would show every hand at a final table, that would be Nirvana, but unlikely to ever happen. Frank |

Re: If you had to choose...
Norman Chad on a WSOP broadcast is like John Madden in the Madden NFL video games. Even if you're not a fan of him, his lines make for great ammo in casual conversations with friends.
Playing Madden with a friend: (Friend's name) was waiting for something to develop, and BOOM! He got developed! Poker home game: It's so quiet in here, you can almost hear (friend's name) telling himself "I'm the best player at this table." |

Re: If you had to choose...
It is extremely disturbing to hear Vince Van Patten referred to as "entertaining" not once, but twice in this thread.

Re: If you had to choose...
Let me add I would pick the two guys from the European Poker Tour as the one is really knowledgable and the other entertaining. I agree the wife jokes do get stale after a while
