semi interesting 10/20 hand vs .maniac
one MP poster, one CO poster (9 handed 10/20 pacific)
UTG maniac raises, MP poster folds, I 3bet AdQd, CO calls 2, Button calls 3, back to maniac who caps, all call. 4 to the flop for 17SB. Flop Kd5h4h Maniac bets, I call, CO calls Turn 8h What's my plan for the turn? what about a non-heart river? what if I hit an A or a Q? |

Can you say more about Maniac? 50/40, 75/50, 100/60, etc.?
If you know he is bad enough to have any 2 on the turn, just raise his bet and get HU. Succeeding that, get to showdown. Failing, fold UI. CO probably has some sort of pocket pair. I normally hate doing this (there are better times to bust a maniac), but the pot has gotten very large. |

Re: semi interesting 10/20 hand vs .maniac
You'll be getting 11-1 on the turn. The only card you really want to see on the river is a A. Hoping to bluff a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] is foolish in my opinion given that villain will often call anyway without a heart due to pot size and the pot is three-handed greatly decreasing the chance you don't have a heart.
I think there are basically two options here: 1. Fold the turn. 2. Raise the turn with intent of shutting out CO and showing down unimproved against the maniac. #2 could be a pretty sweet play if you are confident that the maniac is really so maniacal that he'll bet all the way down here with nothing, and you think CO will fold, and you are not worried about the maniac getting crazy with a worse hand and forcing you to fold your AQ. That's a big parlay, but sometimes in might be right, and the pot is big. I'll say usually the right thing is just to fold here. |

Given the read, though, you got be prepared to call a three-bet and a river bet. It's really friggin' high variance but the pot is big and sometimes against a total nut you just gotta do what you gotta do. Against two random cards you probably have 6 outs and will be ahead plenty of the time. |

Re: semi interesting 10/20 hand vs .maniac
Why not raise the flop to get HU with maniac? If CO calls I bail on the turn unless the A falls. If CO folds I call down unless I see an Ace.
