Did I play this right?
9 players at the table. Villain in this hand is a solid player, hasn't played a lot of hands over the course of about 2 hours and has periodically gotten up from the table.
Stacks: Villain ~150, Hero 22, Everyone Else ~50-75 Hero is dealt J10o UTG+2 PRE-FLOP: UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls, 4 folds, Villain (button) calls, SB calls, BB checks FLOP: J 5 5 (rainbow, suits are unimportant) SB checks, BB checks, Hero is all-in for 20, Villain calls TURN: 7 RIVER: 8 Final Pot: 48 I'll post results after I get some feedback. Thanks in advance. The_Missile |

Re: Did I play this right?
I heavily considered an all-in pre-flop as the table had shown a propensity to fold borderline hands with an EP all-in ahead of them. You'll see why in retrospect I clearly should have raised all-in after the results.

Re: Did I play this right?
Eh, it's iffy situation. I'm in agreeange with previous thread here. Playing short stacked is difficult enough. Your in early position with a trouble hand to begin with. If you decided this is the hand ur making ur stand with limping is not the right play. any kind of raise before the flop to show some sort of strength. But in regards to on the flop, you've commited yourself hoping your 10 kicker holds or that he doesn't have overs or a 5. Tough spot to be in. Look forward to the results.

Re: Did I play this right?
1/2 NL I assume. I guess how I feel depends on what you wanted to accomplish.
If you were trying to end it there, I don't like it. You don't have much of a stack, but it's a donation in my opinion. SB/BB could easily have a 5. If you wanted to extract money, I don't like it. I only really see you getting called by people that have you beat or a PP below J. Much more often I think you are well behind. I think that you do need to bet out to reduce the opponents, but I don't like the push for the reasons I stated above. |

Re: Did I play this right?
1. What are the blinds, what's the max buy-in.
2. Why are you so severely shortstacked. 3. Why are you limping with J10o shortstacked. 4. Flop plays itself simply because you are so shortstacked. The right play? Fold pre-flop, bust out your wallet, and play some more poker. |

Re: Did I play this right?
Yeahhhh
Game is 1/2 NL. Min buy-in 50, Max 200. I sat down with 100. Why was I so shortstacked? Why would someone usually be shortstacked? |

Re: Did I play this right?
Why would you not buy another $78 dollars? Were you underolled? We've all been there before I guess. Ideally you shoulda had more cash to rebuy. FYI buying for 100 in a 200 max game isnt a good idea either. If you dont think you are good enough to play these stakes for the max amount play 25nl or 50nl.

Re: Did I play this right?
I don't know, you tell me, why would you be shortstacked? Did you just lose 80 the previous hand and not have a chance to reload inbetween?

[/ QUOTE ] So if I pushed preflop with 72o, then showed you the results later (I won with two pairs!), then that makes my push a good one? Don't use results to justify a play, thats silly. |
