I have A Gates as my main TE - should I take LJ Smith verse ATL or Heath Miller verse TEN for week one.

Steelers simply don't throw to the tight end. Still don't understand that pick... [/ QUOTE ] If they planned on never throwing to the TE why would they pick one in the 1st round of the draft?? Maybe they haven't been throwin to the TE because they've Jay Riesmera, who wouldn't receive many catches on any team. Bottomline is Heath is a rookie and you don't know how he will be used. As for the OP's question, use LJ Smith. If you have reservations, pick up Marcus Pollard from free agency and start him when Gates can't play. In week 1 (Gates suspended), Pollard and the Lions offense will face Green Bay, who's defense has gotten downright terrible. In Gates' bye week, Pollard will face Arizona, another team that should give up a lot of points. |

[/ QUOTE ] The Steelers have had several TE's since Eric Green that could catch the ball, yet they never throw to them. Why? The TE catching the ball just isn't part of the Steelers offense... PLAIN AND SIMPLE! Miller's not nearly as good of a blocker as Tuman is so Tuman's going to get most of the PT anyways. |
