Default Gas at $3.00?

The American public sure loves paying close to 3 bucks a gallon.

Let's look at the most likely reasons:
1. The USA is losing the Iraq war.
2. Demand is up worldwide.
3. US economic policy has weakend the dollar.
4. Bush and Cheney are oil executives.

The public's presidential approval ratings clearly indicate that they have caught on.

-- No, but since Bush's first priority was giving away any trace of a surplus, it sure is costly.

2. Demand is up worldwide.
-- True, and no real effort to find alternatives.

3. US economic policy has weakend the dollar.
-- See #1 above.

4. Bush and Cheney are oil executives.
-- As is the Sec. Of State.

Recent study I heard about showed demand would not slack for Gas until it hits $5 a gallon. So hang on, I am sure the Oil Companies are well aware of this.

Supply and demand is the only reason, the dollar was hurting a yearand a half ago and that didn't make prices rise, but the dollar's value is back up now and prices are higher than ever, so it's not having much affect on the price of oil. I dont know why liberals try to post about an economic issue, it's like a republican posting about an environmental issue about saving the rainforest.

Well, let's look at these in decreaing order of stupidity:
4. Firstly, Stanford University is not an oil company. Shouldn't you be off looking for those 300% player advantage Big 6 Wheel games instead of wasting your time here? Also, for your contention to make any sense, you would need to show that oil companies have a higher margin now than during cheap oil times... that's almost certain to be untrue.
1. I'm sorry, are you complaining that the President has been unable to secure cheap oil through foreign conquest? Aren't you guys opposed to that sort of thing?
3. This obviously has an impact. This is a good thing, not a bad one... take a look at the trade deficit.
2. Ahh, supply and demand, the real reason... I'm not sure how much influence Bush has over worldwide demand. Surely striving to LOWER prices artificially can't be a good idea though.

Hmmmmm.... I guess a look at the quarterly profits of the major oil companies wouldn't mean anything.

Of course, those profits are stated in historically cheaper dollars.

Condoleezza Rice was a Chevron Director from 1991 until January 15, 2001 when she was transferred by President George Bush Jr. to National Security Adviser. Previously she was Senior Director, Soviet Affairs, National Security Council, and Special Assistant to President George Bush Sr. from 1989 to 1991.

Last I checked, Chevron was an oil company, not a division of Stanford U.

Objectives: Topple Saddam. Check. Reasons for toppling Saddam: Freeing people and stopping WMD attacks. Oops.
