Folding the nut low
Is there a good rule of thumb of when you should fold the nut low?
I've just started playing PL Omaha/8 and understand that you can lose money with the nut low when you've got no chance at high and look to be quartering for low. Can anyone point out a few things to be aware of to fold this hand? Thanks. |

Re: Folding the nut low
Fold the nut low heads up when you have no pair no draw for high and your opponent is betting out of position into you.
Your problem shouldn't be folding the nut low, instead it should be when to fold the nut low draw. By the time low has hit, usually it's too late and you have to suck it up and win a quarter. (As I fondly call it "winning the prize") |

Re: Folding the nut low
Quick question about using bison's converter. There's a hand I want to post about but I'm having a problem. When I copy the hand from notepad in my "hand history" folder on my HD and click "convert hand" in the converter, it says "This is not a recognized hand history format." Any ideas?

Re: Folding the nut low
How do you know when to draw to the nut low? Do you work out pot odds and then divide by 2 cause you're splitting it? How do you account for possibly being quartered?
I've heard that if you have no hope of winning the high that you shouldn't draw to the nut low. That seems like questionable advice to me, especially if there are many people in the pot and there is lots of dead money. |

Re: Folding the nut low
I only draw to the low if I have a reasonable chance of winning high also.
