Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
Villain is TAG and seems like a good and thinking player.
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, UTG+1 calls, <font color="#666666">6 folds</font>, BB calls. Final Pot: 16.20 BB Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF"> Hero has Kc Ks (three of a kind, kings). UTG+1 has Ad Ah (three of a kind, aces). Outcome: UTG+1 wins 16.20 BB. </font> I immidiatley go like Hey man, that's how you play your aces? That's really dumb. Did he outplay me? He played it really sneaky and got the best out of it. Theoritically, it's not a good think not to raise your aces. But in this particular hand, did he played me? Was I the dumb one in the hand? |

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
You're going to lose a lot of money if you have Ks vs As, especially if you both hit a set. That's the bottomline.

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
You played this fine, up to the river. The 4 is a brick, and the K certianly didn't help him. It's clear that he's been waiting this whole time to pounce. I'll just call his rasie if my read is that he's a tough player or a very passive player. Anyone else and I'm re-raising as you did.
That's not to say that re-raising is bad here. It's certianly not -EV to 3-bet; I just think it's more +EV to just call. I could be wrong. I wouldn't be worried about having been outplayed on this hand. Jesus would lose with an underset, too. Moreover, unless your opponent knows your tendancies quite well, he misplayed this hand. Even then, he should have 3-bet PF. |

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
Let's put it this way:
PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP1 calls, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (4 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> SB checks, BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP1 calls, SB folds, BB calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP1 calls, BB folds. River: (5.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, Hero calls. Final Pot: 9.50 BB Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF"> Hero has Qd Td (two pair, queens and tens). MP1 has Ac Ad (one pair, aces). Outcome: Hero wins 9.50 BB. </font> Villain will be losing quite a bit of money by slowplaying aces preflop, both by losing more often than he would otherwise (because someone behind him gonna take a cheap flop and crack it), and by not getting money into the pot when he by far has the best of it. Plus if he does so consistently it cheapens his preflop raises if you pay attention. Villain got lucky on you: that's poker. Maybe in 30/60 when varying your play becomes vital, an occasional AA slowplay will come in handy. Not here. |

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
I dont think that you misplayed your hand.
I think that UTG might have been able to win a bigger pot if he had not slowplayed his AA until the river. |

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
There is no way I wouldn't 3-bet this river.

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
Well played. He didn't outplay you.
However, I just want to point out that I get outplayed by opponents on a day to day basis. They bluff me out of pots, they use my aggression to check-raise me multiple times, they knock me off the best hand in 3way pots by raising a bettor....it's gonna happen on a day to day basis. I also want to say that 95% of the people who outplay me are LAGs, not TAGs. |

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
I would 3-bet the river, since your TAG villain might make the same play with 77, 55, or AK. It's pretty tough to put him on AA waking up at the river like that.
Also, how's your table image? If it's pretty tight one, it's often easier to put opponents on made hands since they are confident enough to challenge your continuous agression. If you've been aggressive with mediocre hands, you might expect the villain to sometimes make this play holding AQ or AJ, too. |

Re: Did my opponent \"outplay\" me?
u didnt get outplayed, you got slowplayed. i think villian will lose money in the long run this way. This is a "bad beat." Next time tell the dealer you will not accept them.
