20/40 4 handed - good move or spew? (part2)
I've been acting on my reads a little more aggressively these days and Im trying to make sure I'm not going over the top so here is part 2:
30 hands or so with SB, he's done some donkish things but his pre flop standards are okay. 50 hands or so with BB, he is a little aggro but also has respectable pre flop standards. 20/40 4 handed I open on button with KTs, SB 3 bets, BB calls, I call. flop: jd2s8d SB checks!!, BB checks, I bet, SB folds!!, BB raises, I call. BB's raise doesn't make any sense to me, the pre flop raiser already checked and gave up the lead so if BB had a hand he wanted to bet he would have bet it instead of checking to me and giving us all very dangerous free cards. turn: 2s BB bets, I raise Maybe I would have been better off 3 betting the flop and betting the turn? Thoughts? |

Re: 20/40 4 handed - good move or spew? (part2)
Coulda been that he was scared that sb's check was a monster(although, granted the board is dangerous to any flop holding). He was scared of sb, but after sb ducked out he's more sure that he's ahead of you? Or that you might fold to his drawing hand semibluff c/r AKd, KQd?
Edit: Naw, he woulda capped with AKsuited, maybe KQs I dunno... |

Yes, it's possible BB was afraid of SB's check but not afraid of my bet but with his aggro profile, it's not so likely. I think it's more likely he read me for nothing, just trying to take the pot with my position and decided to raise me. I do it often myself, anyone else?

Re: 20/40 4 handed - good move or spew? (part2)
would BB check a draw (two diamonds or something) after SB checks, but raise it after you bet and SB folds?
would BB do the same with top pair (something like A-J or K-J or even Q-J, maybe J-10 suited, etc.)? would he play a flopped set or two pair (J-8 suited) the same way? in other words, what hand range can you put BB on? if the majority of the range is some kind of draw, i like the turn raise a lot. if not, i think i fold the turn... aseem |
