Default This has really helped with the mood swings playing...

I started today, but not tracking my wins or losses at all.

To help with this I deposit different amounts at different tables instead of the normal $100 for $2/$4.

This accomplishes not shooting for a meaningless profit point or break even point overall or at a specific table/site.

This seems to help and keeps me concentrating on just making the best decisions possible and allows me to move away from being results oriented.

I aim for a # of hands I want to play that day. If I put monetary goals on myself I get too grouchy when it isn't goin my way.

The swings are just too god awful to worry about $$$ while playing. I mean, if you are trying to 'win' a certain amount on each table, then that person wouldn't really understand poker. Not talking about the OP here, just variance is variance.

I do the same thing as you. Just buy in for random amounts at all tables. If I lose a lot on 1 table, I just rebuy, as that makes me feel better

I incorporated this idea into my play a while back and really feel it has helped me play better for longer periods of time.

Problem is it's pretty easy to keep a mental note of your earn between four tables, Im still working on blocking that out.

Do you play full time? How many do you aim for per day?

I just never check my balance in the cashiers box. I used to check it after every big pot id win or lose, and this made me way to results oriented. I play 4 tables and just rebuy when i get to like 15bb. After an hour or so i forget where ive rebought and dont really worry if im up or not.

I try for 1500 a day, which sets the montly result to 35k hands. Fair enough for me.

No, very part-time. Family, all that. So my daily goal is usually around 250 during a weekday. 500 on weekends, if I get a chance to play.
