Default Sandia, NM

I'm thinking about taking a little road trip over Labor Day and finding a higher-than-five-dollar B&M holdem game. The Santa Fe-Albuquerque area is within fairly easy driving distance and there are several casinos in the area. Supposedly, Sandia has the largest poker room.

Anyone have any experience there that could tell me how the games are?

Or anyone have any better suggestions for a card room that's within 6-8 hours of Denver?

[bad advice]You could go to Council Bluffs, IA - that's about 7 hours.[/bad advice] I stopped there on my way back to Denver from WI and took down a nice chunk of change from the 10/20 kill game there. I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't a 2/4 game, the players were so terrible.

Really, though, just hop a flight to Vegas.

Vegas is too cliche' lol. That, and I suspect it'd be rather crowded over a holiday weekened. Then again, maybe crowds = fish?

The most important consideration, though, is that I just bought a brand new 06 Eclipse and it's just begging for a road trip

Of course, if I was really masochistic, I could make Vegas in about 10-11 hours lol.

It's a nice room. About 30 tables. I only played a little $2/4 and $3/6 (or $4/8, I forget) so I'm not much use about game texture, but I'm sure it's fine.

Nice thing about Sandia is, if you lose, you can get onto the peak tram and jump off near the top.
