Not capping preflop was a misclick.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: I am UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
I raise, MP calls, 2 folds, SB 3-bets, BB calls, I call, MP calls.

Flop: (12 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, BB calls, I raise, MP folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Turn: (9 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, I bet, SB calls, BB calls.

River: (12 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, BB raises, I 3-bet

Any reason for not capping preflop? I like the way you played the rest of the hand.

Hmm, kinda similar to the AA hand I just posted. Let's look at hand ranges.

His 3-bet out of position could mean a lot. Readless lets be generous and give him 88+ and AJ+ (he wouldn't play K-high this way).

Hands you beat:
AK - 16
AQ - 16
AJ - 16
TT - 6
99 - 6
88 - 6
Total: 66

Hands you lose to:
AA - 6
KK - 6
QQ - 6
Total: 18

So far it looks good... but I think we should really be able to narrow the hand range a lot more. This is where you have to come in with a more specific read.

49.21/16.75/1.19 after 188.

In a prior hand he raised UTG, I 3-bet with KQo out of the SB, he capped and didn't put in a single bet postflop.

i dont 3 bet the river but it is close. BB scares me

I play it the same, except for the obvious cap preflop.

a cap is gonna make you puke and means you're beat IMHO. i think I just call here and hope for an overcall.

I'm a gaping vag, but I agree with PBob's line. Overcall is just as goot as a raise/fold/call bet-wise, and much better in terms of you never being raised off the best hand via a cap.

BB's play is so mysterious. SB's play is pretty mysterious too. I'm pretty comfortable 3 betting this river, because it just doesn't look like AA-QQ or some 7.
