Default Replica View

According to the replica view, after you die, God ensures your future existence in heaven by creating a pefect replica of your body---a body that is complete with memories, thoughts, ideas, personal traits and so on. According to this view, a person can die, cease to exist for a time, and then exist again in the future.

Since your future replica is not continuous with you in time or in space, it's not clear that your future replica is really you.

So is your future replca really you?

Default Re: Replica View

The act of replication is a discontinuity. The assumption that a person can be replicated rules out continuity as a trait of personal identity. A more significant question to pose would be, "If god makes two replicas, which one is you?"
