Trying to show down more in 6max
After reading Wookie's excellent 6max stat post, I realized that I don't go to showdown enough. Through my first 17k hands of 6max I'm only going to showdown 32% of the time. As an aside what are the implications of a won at showdown % of 53 with a went to showdown of 32?
So we have the following hand. The villian was a bit laggy but not completely unreasonable. When he c/r the field I'm thinking he has something like midpair and a club and just wants to juice the pot. Should I cap the flop? I decided to call down and trusted my read that he had a single club on the river. However, after I folded I really regretted not calling since the fourth club would be a perfect spot to bluff. Was folding the right play? Re: Trying to show down more in 6max
You might be going to showdown just as often as your aggression suggests. If you are a more passive player, especially on the flop, you will tend to see more showdowns. Raising your wtsd% is not about going to sd with more marginal hands; it's more about becoming more passive.
