Middle Pair Open Ended Draw on Rainbow Flop in BB 7-handed
Party $109 very early. I think there are several lines here and would like to see some thoughts on which is best:
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed) converter MP1 (t475) MP2 (t505) MP3 (t955) CO (t1005) Button (t955) SB (t2210) Hero (t1000) UTG (t955) UTG+1 (t940) UTG+2 (t1000) Preflop: Hero is BB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t15, UTG+2 calls t15, MP1 calls t15, 1 fold, MP3 calls t15, CO calls t15, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (t105) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (7 players) SB checks, Hero ??? |

Check. You're out of position and can't stand a raise.

Check. You're out of position and can't stand a raise. [/ QUOTE ] That's certainly an option and part of the check-line but what's your plan based on the action when (if) it gets back to you. |

Re: Middle Pair Open Ended Draw on Rainbow Flop in BB 7-handed
That's a great question, and I don't think I have a satisfactory answer. I view this as a drawing hand, and I view draws as math problems. If the pot is offering correct odds, I'll pay to see cards. I'm not going to try to steal this pot from early position. If I get much heat, I'm gone. Because you KNOW an overcard is coming.

Re: Middle Pair Open Ended Draw on Rainbow Flop in BB 7-handed
I'll check and watch the action, if it gets really crazy I dump.
More likely someone will bet then get a couple of callers, I will check/raise roughly the size of the pot. If I'm up against a set or made straight I should find out, and this is the cheapest way. Pairs *may* call the c/r so if I'm called, I fire again on the turn if it blanks, if I make my straight, I check/raise again. I'm really tired, but I think that's what I do, I definetly c/r the flop to get rid of the as many guys as I can, and I'm pretty deep so I can afford to do it and still release if I'm beat. Re: Middle Pair Open Ended Draw on Rainbow Flop in BB 7-handed
Check hoping someone directly to your left makes a retardedly small bet and everyone else calls so you can too and then proceed from there. If the bet chases most others out now you might want to consider a check raise or just calling depending on the bet size.
But in short I check as there's little to no chance I can win outright with a bet. |

Thought more about this over dinner.
I don't like my inital line as it builds to big a pot OOP with 2nd pair and a draw. If you can get to the turn cheap, take it. I *may* c/r the turn if its a suspect button bet and no one else shows interest. Regards, Woodguy |
