Default WHY YOU SHOULDNT TIP IN A CASINO

First off let me say I tip 20% everywhere outside of a casino. Resturants, bars, ect... Anyway, I decided in late 2002 that I would never tip again inside of a casino, yes that includes the casino resturants (out of spite). Why should I tip a BJ dealer when all they do is try to take my money, why the crap would I tip a poker dealer, did they help me win the pot? I dont think so. My luck or what little skill I have helped me when that pot. The point of this post is, if everyone quit tipping inside casinos, maybe this would teach them a lesson. We shouldnt have to tip you guys, you make an hourly wage a lot more than those poor waiters and waitresses or those hard workers at Mcdonalds. Have a great day and remember, "I DONT TIP"

1. I bet you never tip a McDonald's employee

2. The dealers are doing their jobs; the casino management wants your money. If no one tipped, the dealers would be paid more, but in paying dealers more, the rules would be tougher or the rake would be higher.

The only problem I'd have with tipping (not played in a live game yet) would be doing so for each pot I won. I'd rather have those chips in play until I left the game and then tip for the full session...

Does that make sense?

Perhaps I'm a cheap bastard as well, but I confess that I'm confused about why a place that makes a hundred kajillion dollars a day from the mathematically disabled needs me to tip dealers for them to make a decent living. Especially at a place like Foxwoods, where the tips go into a big pool to be split up amongst everyone.

I still tip when I go -- a buck every big pot, or every other pot, and if the waitress managed to get me my coke within fifteen minutes -- but that's about it. I was with a guy during my last trip that was a tipping madman, even tipping the chick who cashed him out at the cage. Bizarre.

And I tip ~20% at restaurants as well, sometimes much more at the cheapo places. (God forbid I should end up at someplace like Denny's, but if I do, and if the waitress is attentive, I don't see why she should only get 2 bucks on a 10 dollar bill, when some idiot waiter at a more expensive place can expect 10-15 bucks just by dragging me my food and showing up one extra time to refill my drink that's been empty for ten or fifteen minutes).

So you're not alone, bud. Something tells me those dealers aren't making $2.50/hr like most restaurant waitstaff.

Key word here is "expect". If I don't get my refill timely, they don't get a tip. That is my main criteria.

If I'm dining with company, I get a hard time if I tip anything less than 15%, even if service has been rotten. Pretty much they'd have to take a dump in the soup for me to get away with not tipping them at all. Another expectation I don't like.

I think the tipping system is great--it allows other people to pay a portion of the rake I would otherwise have to pay. Awesome.

I have the same experiences, except I vocalize my displeasure and tell them if they are so willing to compensate lousy service, to go right ahead, but I won't be a part of it. Usually the service has to really suck for me not to tip at least 15%.
