Final Pot: t1550

Was going to muck preflop, but when BB called, i had good position and not too expensive.

I couldn't think of many hands he plays this way that has me beat,

am i thinking too much about this? I really wanted to call him.

Any thoughts?

If I'm villain and catch my set of 10s, I play EXACTLY this way. I'm pretty darn sure you'd have wished you had folded if you did call this.

I couldn't think of many hands he could have that doesn't have you beat.

I really don't understand what you are doing here.

Why are you raising preflop with this junky hand this early in a torney? Why even call the BB in this situation.

Then you call a reraise with this hand too? You're obviously behind. Just fold.

If you play like this, you're going to slowly lose all your chips and be forced to push with a marginal hand, early in the torney.

fold preflop.

raising is ok though, if you feel the button will fold and you can outplay the blinds (you do have position.)

however, this is a TURBO muck to the SB's reraise. you are asking for some serious trouble by calling his reraise, no matter how tempting the odds are (and they are not that tempting.)

If I had top-pair or an overpair I would play it just like the SB to force the straight and flush draws to fold.

Folded to me in the cutoff? i'll try and take the blinds with J9 every time. And like i said i was going to fold to his raise, but when BB came along too i had good position for a cheap price, and i ended up getting a half-way decent flop.

And i didnt think an overpair because it doestn seem like the best way to get paid off.. though i guess since i was considering calling with my 2nd pair/gutshot... mayeb it is.

SB has TT. I like the preflop raise but not calling the reraise. It might technically be worth calling with JTo or T9o but not J9o...even then I probably fold and save my chips for a better option.
