Default OK all-in call in 350k??

Around 60 left so the average so average stack is little over 50k. BB is 6000. I am in SB with 31756 left after posting.

Folded to button (27720) who pushes. BB has us both covered and I have KJo. So basically I have 24720 to call with 36720 sitting in the pot.

I think the button is pushing a wide range of hands here, I could possibly even be ahead. And even if he has a low pair or A-rag, the odds are about right. Basically, I thought it was a good spot to take a gamble to get my stack back up there as I only had 6XBB.

Anyways, couple railbirds thought it was horrid (I know, they are usually dumb and I shouldn't let em get to me) but I just wanted to see if this was alright or should have waited for a better spot?

Mmmmmmmm, it's a difficult decision, but I think your stack is big enough to have FE during the next round of hands. Maybe I fold here, but really not sure.

You can fold and give yourself a whole round to pick a better spot...or you can call this possible A-rag steal-allin and gamble to boost your stack. However I wouldn't risk calling and seeing him turn over A-J, K-Q, or A-K when I have a whole round left.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't exactly a "good" play. Given my stack size, the blinds and average stack, I just felt like a time to gamble a bit in order to hopefully have a more comfortable stack instead of pushing and hoping. Wondering if any of you others who routinely make it far in these ever make such a play once or twice in a MTT.

Personally I'd be pushing the K-J in this situation but not calling (unless I'm in relatively early position and have only a few more chances to get another pushable hand before the blinds hit me)

If you like variance, call.

I'd rather reverse the situation, meaning I'd rather go all-in with KJo and make my opponent decide on whether to call with Ace-rag. While this looks like it could be a blind steal, you will often see actual hands turned up here. The button has an entire round to find a hand and there is no rule against being dealt a hand that dominates KJo on the button as the short stack.

With 5BB left, I'll wait to be the aggressor and let my opponents guess about my hand.

Are there times or situations where you guys will take gambles similar to this (marginal situation) or should I not even be thinking this way during a tournament?

I'm going to disagree with everybody here...You're getting 1.5-1 against a guy whose range of hands is probably enormous (for many players, any two). Some PokerStove #'s

1) KJo vs. random hand 60-40

2) KJo vs. any pair, any ace, any king, QJ-Q8, JT-J9, T9s-76s - 52-48

3) KJo vs. any pair, any ace, KQ-K8, any broadway 45-55

Situation 3 seems about as bad as possible and you're still getting more than the right price. I call.

Steve
