Default when do you realize that it\'s time for a break?

this question is probably similar to magicman's earlier post, but i was wondering if any of you can give me advice on taking a break from poker... specifically, what led some of you guys to take a break, how did you restrict yourself, and what were the results? i've been playing seriously for about a year, and while i've made more money than i know what to do with, i recognize that poker has had some negative effects on my life. i'm trying to rectify some of these problems, and i'm pretty sure taking a break will help me do it. anyways, any advice and personal experiences will be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot.

if its having a negative effect on your life then the best thing is probably to take a break. life is short, and poker will always be here, so figure out what is bringing on these negative effects and try to fix it before it completely takes over.

If you plan on playing poker again I don't believe a break to be the answer. By taking a break (unless it's to come up with a solution) you're not going to solve any problems. When the break is over and you return to poker the problems will be there to welcome you back. If poker is going to continue to be a part of you life you need to find a balance.
