Default Samsung 213T vs. Dell 2001FP

I know variations of this have probably been posted several times, but the search feature didn't find exactly what I was needed... so here goes.

I currently have a dual monitor setup with a Samsung 213T for my tables and one of those cheapy 15" Dell LCDs I borrowed from work for web browser or a DVD. I want to upgrade setup of course and here are my two options.

Option 1. Get another Samsung 213T.
Option 2. Sell the Samsung 213T. Get two Dell 2001FPs.

I'm looking for opinions from people who have experience with both monitors (or have a reliable source).

The Samsung is 21.3" vs. the Dell which is only 20.1". The Dell, however, has a response time of 16ms vs. the Samsung's 25ms (however... I played Doom3 on the Samsung and the response time didn't bother me). Another thing to consider is the Samsung's 500:1 contrast ratio vs. the Dell's 400:1.

I guess if not for the response time, the clear winner would be another 213T since it beats the Dell in size and contrast ratio. Does 16ms vs. 25ms make that much of a significant difference if I'm not going to be doing much gaming? If not, then why is the 2001FP more popular?

So... grab another 213T or dump the existing one and get two 2001FPs? How much do you think I could get for a used 213T?

Also note that price is not a factor here... I know it would cost me more to dump the 213T and get 2 2001FPs, but if it's a superior setup then I'm willing to spend the extra few hundred bucks.

Thoughts?

213T IS a better monitor in almost all aspects. The popularity of 2001fp is the price only. You get alot of monitor for your buck with 2001fp, but if you want the better choice then 213T is what you want.

"The look of the 213T speaks volumes of its own. Even though the Dell 2001FP is a high end device, the SyncMaster 213T is the definitive ultra-enthusiast device. We were particularly impressed with contrast, glare and dark value divergence between the 213T and the 2001FP. In our opinion, the 2001FP is the better gaming monitor. However as a workstation LCD, the SyncMaster 213T is unparalleled. DVD playback has no equal to anything we have tested over the last two years, and the additional screen space goes a long way. The brighter panel goes a long way in our opinion."

Find me a new 213T for under $450 and I'd get those. Since you won't, I'll stick to my 2001FP and get another one to put next to it the next time the price goes down that low again.

Im actually considering getting the Samsung instead of the 2100fp. Ive seen some 213T's for about $560 each including shipping.

I have the 2001 FP and the fonts are a little small for my eyesight, so I would go with another 21 incher. In fact if yours is less than two years old and in like new shape maybe we could work out a trade. You know, now that I think about it, those Samsungs really suck, why would you want to keep one of those when you can have this stylish, sexy, beast that is all the rage. Seriously, I'm in Tampa btw.

Where? I have one 213T already but want to replace my 21" CRT to reduce eye strain (I use dual monitors of course).

Lucky people... In Poland 213T costs about 1.2k and buying this abroad means some problems with shipping, hopeless Polish post service (damages possible) and future fees....

I found those prices at Ebay. Monitor ran on average around $530 then add $30 shipping. This is all from memory so it may not be exact.

Still hell of a deal when it retails for $1,100. Im thinking it may be worth it by getting two of these and spending an extra $300.
