So you\'ve raised the last 5 hands preflop.....
And won because the deck has slapped you in the face but only 2 of those hands were shown down. If people don't know you, you have a maniac image, if they do know you then there is a possibility you may be tilting, but you've shown down solid hands when called.
Interesting table mix, 4 loose players, and two maniacs behind me that have allowed me to put in 4 bets preflop with quite a few good hands. Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero limps ...... I would have likely just raised AJo, but I think I can get more value from AJs with a limp. thoughts? misguided? |

I think misguided. Raise and let one of the maniacs try to isolate you.
What was your reasoning? |

I'm raising again here. If they think your hand isn't strong, all the better for you, since they might isolate with a weaker hand.

[/ QUOTE ] I think I'd prefer not to get isolated with my good multiway hand, but it wouldn't be a tragedy, especially since there's a good chance the person who is isolating is 3-betting light (because he's a maniac and/or because of the read he has on me). I like raising (I think), but I don't really have a problem with the limp. If one of the maniacs raises after you limp, that may not get much respect at all, but if you raise and get 3-bet instead, that could really thin the field (which, like I said, wouldn't be a tragedy, which is part of the reason I'm torn). |

Given the last five hands, aren't they more likely to call two bets cold? Isn't this something you want?

Is the plan to LRR here if the pot is multiway enough and one bet back to you?

Re: So you\'ve raised the last 5 hands preflop.....
IMO, this is clearly a raise. It's likely your table will react one of two ways:
1) Someone will 3-bet you with a weaker hand to isolate you. 2) Multiple people will call your raise because they think you're raising light. Both of these situations are good for you. |

Re: So you\'ve raised the last 5 hands preflop.....
Hobbs,
If the raise comes from one of the maniacs and the callers all have been known to call light given the maniacs' play, a limp-reraise here could be really, really hot. |

Is the plan to LRR here if the pot is multiway enough and one bet back to you? [/ QUOTE ] Actually I was a little unfair with my description of the table. The two lags are on my right, withthe tighter players on my left. The Lags are in fact the blinds right now, so depending on how the pot develops I think a limp RR is quite possible in several ways and for several reasons. |
