Default Bet into on the turn with marginal holding.

PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

MP1 is a solid player. Over 229 hands I have him 19/5/2.55. WTSD=38%. My notes say "solid player postflop."
His stats show me tight preflop. Likely around 15/8/2.2.

So villain raises two early limpers, smooth calls the flop and bets into me on the turn...

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, 4 folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls.

Flop: (11.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 bets...

What do you put villain on here?

Tough to put him on a hand here. If the limpers are weak I suppose he could've flopped a double bellybuster w/ J9s, could have lots of K's, could have a straight/flush draw...
Folding this every time vs. an aggressive player would be weak and calling is 'meh'. Good spot to raise it up and check the river.

Weird action.
If he has AK, why didn't he raise the flop with that AF?
I don't think 88's are a possibility. But how did the 8 helped him?

But then again, he could be multiplaying or watching porn or something and quickly called the flop withouth paying attention.

With you having QQ, what raising/call 3-bet after two limpers hands don't include a king? AJ, 99, TT, maybe JJ. You are behind any king and TT. Would he really gaybet with AJ, 99, or JJ? You get 4-1 calling down, which I think is small enough to justify folding.

I think you're ahead here reasonably often. I could see a hand like 99 betting this turn picking up an oesd. Other possibilities could be JJ or AJs (hearts).

I would raise and fold to a 3-bet, taking a free showdown on the river.

Edit: Ooh, yeah AT [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] is another good possibility.

River: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Check, check.

Villain turns A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

After posting this hand I immediately thought it was routine, but maybe it is a little back to basics!

I was surprised to see A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Added to my notes to watch for isolation raises from this guy. Good reads, thanks.

I put villain on a range of AA,KK,TT,AK and KQ. I think you are most likely beat and would fold.

Interestingly enough, if I had been villain, I would have preferred to check/call to showdown. Thats because I think that would have been the most likely way to extract the most bets from a hand he beat that might have 3-bet preflop like yours, such as QQ or JJ.
