Home Tourney Payout
I've been browsing twoplustwo since I read HoH and finally decided to post something. I need help with the payout structure of a $20 buy-in NLHE tourney that should last about a whole Saturday. While I'm not hosting it, I've sort of become the tournament director over the past few big tournaments. We're expecting about 50 or so people. Most of the people there would like to see the top 9 or 10 make the money, and I hate the flat payout structure they want. Does this seem like a good compromise between a half flat/half top three payout group?
Assume the prize pool is $1000. 1st-$350 2nd-$210 3rd-$150 4th-$100 5th-$80 6th-$60 7th-$50 I'd really like to see maybe only top 6 or even just top 5 get paid, but I know that's not going to happen. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Otherwise that's a fine structure. I think seven places is reasonable for a 50 player tourney and I think less is too top heavy. |
