Default ATo on the button vs CO OPFR

OPFR = open preflop raise. CO is unknown (first orbit). Do you raise or fold?

(Edit: My mistake, it's the CO)

I don't think ATo is worth playing vs. a middle position open raise unless villain was in the 15% PFR range or so.

AJs might be worth a 3 bet though.

Well, here's the thing, it's entirely possible that the villain was in the 15% pfr range...

But yeah, I hear what you're saying. I felt that it was a little light... I ended up raising though.

Edit: next time I definitely fold. The way the hand played out, it felt like he had AK or AQ.

What's the question? You're the on the button and the CO openraises or you're the CO and someone else openraises?

If it's number 1 it's an easy 3bet. If it's number 2 it depends on what position he/she is in. Usually a fold.

Sorry, the question is, If you have ATo on the button against an openraiser in the CO, what should you do (provided that CO is an unknown player)?

Thanks for your response.

Definite 3-bet.

This decision sucks big-time without reads.

My intuition suggests that an "unknown" (read: typical/average/median) small stakes online player will be open-raising with a range of hands that A10 will be worth playing against, but I really have no justification for that sentiment. If someone has some meaningful numbers on such things, that could be really helpful.

This is a decision that becomes very, very clear with a read. Against a player with any kind of aggressivenss (>8% pfr maybe, post-flop agg numbers in the 1.5 range, depending on VPIP calibrations) this becomes an easy three-bet. Against a 38/3/.6, though, I'm folding without a thought, clearly.
