not that i have a clue about 5/10 but what is he calling here that you beat? if hes calling with an 8 than thats all good and dandy, but i would think the threat of being checkraised or that he has you beat is too big?

I think you get value from a 66/77 hand that got this far and possibly an 8 (but there's not many 8 hands that will 3-bet from the SB), but thats about it. Ax UI isn't going to call on this coordinated board. Likewise, the flush draw just came in and I'm going to be very hesitant to fold to the TAG's c/r on a scare board like this. It really looks like a draw of some sort that either got made or missed, neither of which gives you value so I just check it through.

Yeah, I was wondering about this myself. I thought I might get value from AK and maybe AQ here. He seems to be in definite calldown-mode here. I picked this up from the rhythm of his checks and calls.. jsut the super quick check &amp; [censored]-you-i'm-looking-you-up calls

Care to explain? Are AK/AQ the only hands we're getting value from by betting here, and do they call here enough to counteract the risk of a c/r from a made flush where we'll lose 2BB because we can't fold to this TAG? Certianly missing this value bet isn't "horrendous" if there is indeed value to it.

Edit: I do agree with the PF cap though.

His hand is very narrowly defined here so we can valuebet and hope to get called by ace high or a smaller pocket pair.

i play it the same way. i dont think cappin preflop is mandatory though.
