Wow that was weak-tight. The board is pretty perfect for your 9s. If you're not gonna play out with a board like that, may as well fold any non-set.
If villain had a much stronger PP he would have raised your flop bet rather than call. He does this with AA, KK and QQ and probably JJ. Maybe villain has TT - that's the only hand I can see beating you here on how he played it. Even a set of 5s has now been counterfeited. I check-call anything reasonable (and $3 into a $7.25 pot is really reasonable) and do the same on the river on a blank. If paint or an Ace came up, I'd be less likely to call a bigger bet than if another undercard to your 9s comes along. You're probably ahead here. |
