AA butchered (I think)
I feel I misplayed this one. Villain is 50/2 and quite passive.
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP3 posts a blind of $0.25. 4 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 (poster) checks, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls. Flop: (9 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero bets, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO calls. Turn: (7.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, CO raises, Hero calls. River: (11.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 13.50 BB Tell me if you agree here. When I'm raised on the totally drawless flop here, I'm way ahead/way behind. I put villain on either a small pair that thinks I have overs, a 10, improbably 33. Is that right? 3 betting here will at best win an extra small bet when I'm ahead, and loses me 1.5 big bets when behind unless I can fold. I believe I should have called flop, check called the turn and river, unless I hit an ace, then bet/3-bet. Also I have a followup query. Suppose the board was T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. What's my plan now when CO raises (vs average opponent)? |

Re: AA butchered (I think)
You played it perfectly. And you play it the same with the different board too.
In both cases, you should slow down if the flop gets capped, because you mentioned the villain is passive. |

Re: AA butchered (I think)
I would've fallen into the same trap, I think. When villain doesn't cap the flop, I would've gotten squirrely and led the turn as well. When he pulls the sng and pops you on the turn, you gotta believe you are done. I would probably call down from there.

Re: AA butchered (I think)
Grunching.
If you are going to 3-bet the flop, you need to call down because that 8 doesn't help the villian (you wouldn't think). I would have played it the same way. |

With a set and position against a pfr that becomes short-handed I won't cap either since it's more likely I'll be able to raise a big bet. |

Re: AA butchered (I think)
Looks good to me - he didn't cap the flop, so I would lead the turn also. After he raises you there, I think calling down is best.

Re: AA butchered (I think)
Is this because we might expect him to wait for the turn to raise me with a T? I think going by his numbers alone he's playing at least T8..AT here so it's quite probable for him to have a T, actually more likely than a PP.

[/ QUOTE ] It's because we don't know what he has, but we could still be infront. It really depends on this specific opponent - some people won't wait for the turn to raise, and some people will wait for the river. He could have a T, but maybe he doesn't. (If we thought the turn raise was a T, we should fold right there.) |

Re: AA butchered (I think)
The way you played it looks fine. Whats the problem? Don't worry, be happy.
